Photoroom Pricing 2026: Plans, Credits, Refunds and What You Actually Get
Disclosure: Can Bayrak is the founder of Kayrae, a Photoroom alternative for fashion brands. Every Photoroom price and rule below is cited to Photoroom's own pages or a third-party source, checked on 5 October 2026.
How much does Photoroom cost? On 5 October 2026, Photoroom's paid plans were Pro at $7.50/month, Max at $20.99/month and Ultra at $82.50/month, all billed yearly, with 8,000, 25,000 and 75,000 AI credits a month, plus custom Enterprise pricing. Monthly-billed prices were not shown on the page we checked. Subscriptions auto-renew, and refunds are limited to about 7 days.
TL;DR: Photoroom pricing
- Plans: Pro, Max and Ultra, plus Enterprise on request (Photoroom pricing, accessed 5 October 2026).
- Credits and exports: 8,000 to 75,000 AI credits and 1,000 to 10,000 exports a month. Core editing tools use no credits.
- Fashion limits: 2K AI Fashion Models output is not on Pro, 4K is Ultra only, and the Video Generator is Max and Ultra only.
- Refunds: within 7 days of your last payment, not for API users, while the terms say fees are non-refundable (Photoroom help, terms).
- Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically, and the terms ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel.
Photoroom plans and prices
Checked on Photoroom's live pricing page on 5 October 2026. The page showed yearly-billed prices, expressed per month, and advertised "Save 33%" for paying yearly. Monthly-billed prices were not shown on the page we checked, so we have not listed them. Prices include VAT/GST.
| Plan | Price (billed yearly) | AI credits a month | Exports a month | Photoroom's label |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pro | $7.50/month | 8,000 | 1,000 | "Perfect for solopreneurs" |
| Max | $20.99/month | 25,000 | 3,000 | "Most popular" |
| Ultra | $82.50/month | 75,000 | 10,000 | "Best for growing brands" |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Adds Visual QA, SLA and SSO |
At those rates, a year of Pro works out to $90, Max to $251.88 and Ultra to $990. There is also a free account, but Photoroom limits it to personal, non-commercial use (Photoroom help, 13 October 2025).
Two things to know before you buy:
- Credits can vary by region. The pricing page says the credit amount "may vary depending on your country or region", and credits are shared across your Space.
- Mobile prices may differ. The App Store listing shows in-app purchases from $5.99 to $249.99, not mapped to plans.
What each plan includes for fashion
The limits that matter most to a clothing brand, from the pricing page:
| Pro | Max | Ultra | |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI Fashion Models, 1K | Up to 1,600 a month | Up to 5,000 | Up to 15,000 |
| AI Fashion Models, 2K | Not included | Up to 185 | Up to 555 |
| AI Fashion Models, 4K | Not included | Not included | Up to 310 |
| Video Generator | Not included | Up to 50 a month | Up to 150 a month |
| Shopify integration | Not included | Included | Included |
Visual QA tools, SLA, SSO and dedicated onboarding are Enterprise only, and Photoroom's contractual AI visual fidelity guarantee is described under Enterprise (H1 2026 recap, 1 July 2026).
For on-model shots at product-page resolution plus video, budget for Max or Ultra, not the $7.50 entry plan.
How Photoroom credits and exports work
- Core tools are free to use. Background Remover, Shadows, Product Fixer, Retouch, AI Fill and AI Expand use no credits on paid plans (Photoroom pricing).
- Export limits apply up to 2K. The page says export limits "apply to visual assets up to 2K resolution", and that "API and MCP usage are not included".
- Failed generations are refunded in credits. AI credits are refunded automatically for any generation that fails due to a technical error, and you can request a refund for a "Bad result", including on AI Fashion Models (Photoroom help, updated 8 July 2026).
The hidden cost for fashion is fidelity. In Photoroom's own benchmark (6 July 2026), the best third-party base model kept products intact in 29.0% of virtual-model generations, and Photoroom's Fidelity Layer raised that to 38.2%. Logo and text distortion was the most common failure, at 20.1%. Its Fidelity Layer post (6 August 2026) says: "A 38.2% pass rate is still far from the level of reliability required for fully automated production." Every shot your team checks and fixes is time on top of the subscription.
Photoroom refund policy
The refund rules depend on which page you read:
- Pricing page FAQ: "We refund customers up to one week after their purchase" (pricing).
- Help centre (19 January 2026): refunds cover Pro, Max and Ultra within 7 days of your last payment, and are not available for API users (Photoroom help).
- Terms and conditions (effective 29 July 2026): section 3.1 says "fees are non-refundable" (terms).
In practice, treat the 7-day window as the policy and decide inside the first week, keeping a record of your request.
Auto-renewal and how to cancel a Photoroom subscription
The pricing FAQ says you can cancel "with one click". The terms add that section 3.4 asks for at least 24 hours' notice, and section 4.2 renews subscriptions automatically for one year or the preceding subscription period (terms). On desktop, payments are by credit card only.
- Check the refund window. If your last payment was in the past 7 days, you may be eligible for a refund (Photoroom help).
- Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date, from your account's subscription settings.
- Keep proof of the cancellation.
- Review data settings. Training on uploads is on by default, and the opt-out is per user account (Photoroom help).
- Check your next statement. On Trustpilot (2.2 out of 5 from 267 reviews, accessed 5 October 2026), users report poor support and unused credits lost after a plan change.
Data and training terms
Photoroom's terms (section 2.2.c) let it use user content to train its products unless you opt out, and grant it a perpetual, irrevocable licence to that content. Its help centre (20 October 2025) says API images are not used for training unless explicitly requested, while a Photoroom blog post (3 September 2026) says self-serve API plans offer an opt-out and Enterprise contracts default to no training. The two appear to conflict, so ask Photoroom to confirm in writing.
Paying for Photoroom mainly to put clothes on AI models? Kayrae keeps every logo and label true to the garment, with no prompting. Plans start at $19/mo. View pricing
A different option for fashion brands
Photoroom is cheaper to start than Kayrae, and for background removal it is hard to beat on price. But if you pay for Photoroom mainly for on-model fashion imagery, and check every shot for changed logos and prints, Kayrae is a Photoroom alternative for fashion built to keep the garment true to the real product. A reviewer agent grades each frame for logo drift, seams and fabric fall, and re-runs failures.
Kayrae is an AI creative performance platform for fashion brands, not just an image generator. It learns your brand's visual identity and creative taste, generates content around it, tracks how that content performs, and uses those signals to make the next campaign smarter.
| Photoroom | Kayrae | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry paid plan | Pro, $7.50/month billed yearly | Starter, $19/month |
| Unused credits | Not covered in the sources we reviewed | Roll over up to twice your billing period's allowance |
| Cost before generating | Credit allowances per plan and per feature | Exact credit cost shown before you generate |
| Refunds | 7 days per help centre; terms say non-refundable | See kayrae.ai/pricing |
| Cancelling | Auto-renews; 24 hours' notice in the terms | Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time |
| Data use | Trains on uploads by default; opt-out per user | No training on your content unless you opt in |
| Output ownership | Terms do not separately define ownership of AI output | Output belongs to you, usable commercially even after your subscription ends |
"We used to book a studio for every drop. Now the whole catalogue ships in a day, and the models still look real." Selin Aksoy, Brand director
Generation models change every month. What compounds is your brand's taste and your own performance data, and that is what Kayrae is built on.
